Please join us as we answer Our Lady’s request to make reparation for the offenses committed against Her Immaculate Heart. On July 13, 1917, when Our Lady appeared to Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta in Fatima, she told them that a greater war would break out and much suffering would occur if people did not stop offending God. To prevent this, she asked for the Consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart, and also for the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. In 1925, after Lucia had become a nun, she was given the details about this devotion. Our Lady said that she would “...assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who on the first Saturdays of five consecutive months confess, receive Holy Commun- ion, pray a Rosary, and keep me company for a quarter of an hour meditating on the fifteen mysteries with the intention of offering me reparation.”
At Saint Catherine’s on each first Saturday of the month immediately following the 7 a.m. Mass, parishioners gather to pray the First Saturday devotion that was requested by Our Lady. The Rosary is prayed with a 3 minute pause between each decade to honor Our Lady’s request to keep her com- pany for a quarter of an hour meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary. All are welcome.
